Painting week
Immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery of Fiji as you learn to paint realistic landscapes and seascapes in this hands-on acrylic painting course. From golden beaches and rolling waves to mountain vistas and tropical foliage, you’ll master the essential elements of outdoor painting in one of the world’s most inspiring natural settings.
Over the course of the workshop, you’ll explore how to paint dynamic skies, expressive clouds, the shimmer of light on water, and the gentle ripple of waves. You’ll learn to bring scenes to life by adding people, boats, and the subtle details that make a painting sing—like reflections, shadows, and texture. While acrylics are our primary medium, all techniques can be easily adapted to oils, giving you tools you can use long after your Fijian adventure ends.

Each day begins with an on-location group demonstration focused on a key subject—be it a seascape with foamy surf or a lush hillside dotted with coconut palms—followed by one-on-one guidance tailored to your level and style. You’ll also dive into art theory fundamentals: how to design a balanced composition, mix colours with confidence, and use both aerial and linear perspective to create depth and realism.
Best of all, you’ll be painting en plein air—outdoors in the vibrant Fijian landscape. Picture yourself under the shade of a tree, brush in hand, with the sea breeze on your face and a view of Savusavu Bay stretched before you. In the event of rain, you’ll continue painting from the open-air studio at Daku Resort, with its sweeping views of the bay.
Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or looking to refine your technique, this course is designed for all levels of experience. Come paint paradise with us—and take home more than just memories.
