Seascape & Landscape Painting in Acrylics : Elena Parashko : August 2010

14 – 21 August, 2010

We still have a few places left on this course. The flights to Daku Resort in Savusavu are very full  BUT we can arrange for you to fly on Aug 14, spend a night in Nadi and fly on first thing in the morning on Aug 15 in time for breakfast and the first day of the course for an all-inclusive price of $2850 twin share if you can book (and pay) by June 11.

In this art holiday course you will learn how to paint the basic elements of any seascape and landscape in a realistic style. You will learn how to paint sky and clouds, beach scenes with sand, rocks and a foam wash, how to capture the movement of waves with ripple effects as well as mountains landscapes with coconut trees and other vegetation. We will be using acrylic paint in Fiji but the techniques learned can be successfully applied to oil paints when you return home. Each workshop is structured around a group demonstration of a particular subject followed by individual tuition. We will be covering aspects of art theory such as designing balanced compositions, blending techniques, aerial perspective and linear perspective, colour mixing, creating the illusion of texture, tone as well as the use of light and shadow. All skill levels are welcome from beginners through to experienced painters. We will be creating a new painting each day.
