Yoga in Fiji Daku resort

Course description

New Horizons: Flowing Hatha yoga with Kundalini

Pam lays out what she hopes to offer in her January retreat:

With the most part of 2016 behind us, 2017 will be on  the doorstep before we know it!

How has the last calendar cycle been for you? Perhaps a great one (lucky you) – let’s build on that!  Or if you are in a not so great cycle … time to look to the future for strength and stability.

Pam Badman yoga Daku Resort Yoga and meditation

My passion is teaching. It means everything to me and I’d love to share with you the gifts that have been given to me. It is what I am meant to do and I love that I can share this precious gift with my students.

My retreat will help you build an easy-to-follow  practice which you can take home and integrate into your life in 2017.

So don’t hesitate a moment longer, give yourself something that will last a lifetime!

Pam’s classes are tailored to the individual student. She moves each person through a series of gradients that allow for the beginner to commence practice or for an experienced yogi to pursue more difficult asanas, both with equal confidence to advance at their own pace.

An emphasis on pranayama is a distinguishing feature of her classes — a method of yogic breath exercises designed to relax and enhance the nervous system, strengthening one’s immunity and leading to better mental and physical health.

A typical class can include:

  • Commencing with a chakra meditation to centre oneself and forget the outside world,it flows  to incorporate a guided pranayama practice
  • Moves into a series of postures and stretches to relax the body, increase flexibility and remove energy blocks, further focusing the mind
  • Improves energy flow with more breathing practices and integrates and harmonises the body, mind and spirit with deep relaxation and meditation.

The morning class will follow the above program, with an emphasis on waking the body, mind and spirit. The late afternoon practice will take the form of restorative yoga, with time to really explore the deeper path to meditation.

Yoga Nidra will also form part of the afternoon practice. This is a specialised form of conscious relaxation which has profound effects on the human body (30 minutes of Nidra is said to be equivalent to approximately 4 hours sleep).

The evolving practice will unfold over the week, delving into the benefits of having a regular practice of meditation, and steps to help release blockages that might prevent a fulfilling meditation practice.

Pam Badman yoga in Fiji

Teacher: Pam Badman

Pamela Badman is an experienced yoga and stress management teacher based south of Sydney with a client base that covers both the corporate sector and casual group classes.

A deep interest in meditation and the effects it has on stress levels led her to a more involved study of this area, and a focus on incorporating it in her teaching. She noticed that her corporate students wanted more and more of the meditation component of her teachings, to help them with their high stress levels. At the same time, her other students were benefiting from this approach to yoga – everybody from mums juggling many different balls, people living and or  recovering from illness, couples struggling with the trauma of infertility and the stresses of IVF …..the list went on, reflecting the many demanding aspects of a modern fast paced life of high expectations.

As a result she developed her teaching approach to embrace her knowledge of stress management. This has resulted in a very different type of class, one where the body is certainly strengthened and stretched, but the mind is also made more resilient and able to respond to challenges, leading to a nurtured balanced soul.

This is what makes Pam’s classes unique.
