Living in the NOW : 5 – 12 January 2013 : Michelle Jayne

Lord of the Dance

Michelle’s retreat is a challenging and rewarding exploration of body and mind. Her workshops combine a dynamic physical practice combined with workshops designed to help students develop emotional robustness and peace.

During this yoga retreat Michelle invites her students to integrate the lessons of your past, the intentions of your future, but most importantly the power of the here and now. Utilising meditation techniques, daily asana classes, self reflection and inquiry, she will help you to release emotions that have been stored in your subconscious and give insight into how to free yourself from creating continual self defeating patterns.

“We are always getting ready to live but never really living.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

From the retreat you will learn to :

  • Let go of the past so you are more available for the present
  • Be liberated from self defeating mental habits
  • Increase your strength, endurance and flexibility with two strong yoga practices daily
  • Embrace the power of manifestation
  • Start to understand Yoga Psychology
  • Begin steps towards Meditation

Morning yoga will include invigorating breathing practices (pranayama) and an strong vinyasa practice to awaken, cleanse, ease tight joints, tone and align your body. The evening Yoga workshop session will include workshops on the above topics  and meditative Yin Yoga. These practices are suitable for all levels of yoga experience and physical ability.

Michelle Jayne is a qualified holistic counsellor and has been teaching yoga for over 7years. She brings a rich understanding of how the emotions store energetically within the body, and weaves principles of alignment with yoga philosophy to create a healing, transformation space for her students.

From a dance training background in Melbourne, London and LA, Michelle was introduced to yoga through Yoga-cise WA. Completing her training in 2002, she began teaching small groups around Perth. Michelle returned to Melbourne in 2006 training with Les Mills and incorporating her Yoga

training into the Fitness Industry.  Michelle completed her Diploma in Complementary Therapies in 2007 and in 2008 attended the Asia Yoga Conference  in order to further study the connection between mind and body practices. She met one of her most influential yoga mentors, Ana Forrest, creator of Forrest Yoga and came back with a wealth of new knowledge and renewed insight into the history and practice of yoga in relation to the quest for one’s self mastery. Michelle has since studied intensively with Baron Baptist (Power Yoga), Duncan Peak (P.L.A.Y), Donna Farhi and Simon Borg-Oliver. Michelle is the Victorian presenter for Les Mills BodyBalance and was also selected to represent the Flow Yoga program that is Fitness First’s incentive to increase their mind/body classes. Michelle is currently completing her Diploma in Counselling and incorporates her knowledge gained from this study into her yoga classes.
