Course description

Finding your inner bliss

Each day we will start with a whole yoga practice and meditation session to settle into the body and still the mind. We will then spend the day tapping into your healing and creative space by connecting with yourself, with others and with nature.

You will have a ninety minutes Vinyasa yoga class in the morning and 60 minutes of Yin yoga in the evening .

In vinyasa yoga, each movement is synchronized to a breath. The breath is given primacy, acting as an anchor as you move from one pose to the next in a fluid and harmonious way. The class will be is focused on increasing flexibility, building strength and improving core stability, while creating overall mind balance.

Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. Yin is also great for reducing stress in the body and mind. Classes will focus on holding poses without distraction for several minutes to relax the body and to still the mind, thus releasing tension deeply ingrained in our muscles.

……and 2 hours of “play” workshops daily. The “play” workshops will cover:

AcroYoga – a mix of partner acrobatics, Thai massage, and yoga. Essentially, it builds a practice of the understanding of trust. Trust within the body, trust within the community, and trust in the fact that it’s a lot of fun to do these amazing things you never thought you’d be able to do

Slack line – it’s all about balance. Learning to walk a slackline is a simple activity that requires focus of the mind and concentration, and will allow you to develop stillness and playfulness.

Reiki –  a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing by moving the energy or life force of the body. It is administered by laying hands above the body.

Mindfulness Meditation – increases focus, decrease stress, and stimulate your creativity thought stilling the mind. It can be practiced with the eyes open or closed in a sitting position. The process is the observance of the breath and calming the mind activity until the state of deep calmness arises. Claudia guides the sessions.

Claudia Martinez Inner bliss yoga Fiji

Claudia was born in Chile and has spent many years pursuing her passionate for travel. She came to New Zealand in 2013 where she fell in love with the country and met her partner. They now call Queenstown in New Zealand home.

Claudia has more than 10 years of journey sharing inspiration and love for wellness with the world. Since 2006 Claudia she has trained and been certified in many healing disciplines including; Chinese medicine and acupuncture (2500hrs), therapeutic massage 3000hrs, Ayurvedic medicine, mindfulness meditation, aromatherapy, Reiki (master) and yoga.

Her Yoga practice started in 2007 with Kundalini Yoga and Ashtanga in 2008. In 2012 she started her journey with Power Vinyasa and in 2014  she added Yin and Acroyoga to her practice and teaching.

She has studied with Nam Nidham in Chile, Dominique Renucci  in Chile and India, Simon Rodrigues in New Zealand, Meghan Currie in Nicaragua and most recently with Jo Phee in New Zealand.

Daily Programme

The programme is structured around morning workshops with afternoons for activities and free time to enjoy a massage, snorkelling, or relaxing by the pool.

The morning practice will begin with guided meditation, Pranayama rhythms and grounding, strengthening Asana.  In the late afternoon, the practice will focus on Asana with restorative elements and deep relaxation. Mid week there will be a dream workshop, with follow up and debrief sessions as needed.

Note: the order of workshops may vary depending upon weather conditions.The listed activities are part of the course and are covered by your fees. If you want to add on extra excursions, eg. diving, you are welcome to do so and they will be added to your bill.

Morning: Trip to Savusavu Town to see local market and shops. We put you in cabs to get into town and then leave you to wander around at your own pace, and let you to take a cab (Aus$3) or walk back when you’ve had enough.

11.30am Picnic lunch at a nearby beach. We’ll either drive or take a boat to a nearby sandy beach at Devodara, where we’ll have a picnic and swim in the warm waters of the ocean. We’ll get back to Daku around 3.00pm
1.30pm or thereabouts: Lunch
4.30 – 6.00pm Afternoon session: Asana with restorative elements and deep relaxation.
6.30 Happy hour (relax, swim, free time or drinks)

Free morning: Time to explore on your own: we can help you fix up SCUBA diving, a snorkel trip, a hike, a visit to the Flora Botanica tropical gardens…or just spend the time quietly enjoying the peace and tranquility. Lunch will be served as normal at 1.00pm – although you might choose to go and eat in town.
4.30 – 6.00pm Afternoon session: Dreamwork session.

Thursday

7.00 – 8.30am Morning session: guided meditation, Pranayama rhythms and a strengthening Asana practice.
9.00am  Buffet breakfast
Morning: Visit to waterfall – we drive about 30 minutes round the bay to a beautiful waterfall where you can swimming a fresh water pool beneath the cascade. Bring along shoes that you can wear in the water and be ready to enjoy the exhilarating beauty of nature. We’ll get back to Daku in time for a late lunch.
1.30pm or thereabouts: Lunch
4.30 – 6.00pm Afternoon session: Asana with restorative elements and deep relaxation, and follow-up session on dreamwork.

10.00 – 11.30am Hike up the hill behind Daku (optional). This is a steep hill winding up though magnificent rain trees with some beautiful views at the top.
1.00pm Lunch
4.30 – 6.00pm Afternoon session: Asana with restorative elements and deep relaxation.
6.30pm Happy hour (relax, swim, free time or drinks)
7.30pm Final lovo dinner cooked under hot stones
