Painting paradise: Seascapes and landscapes with Elena Parashko 11 – 18 June

COURSE CONFIRMED. Elena Parashko is returning to Fiji for her sixth retreat. She knows and loves the views out over the bay from Daku Resort, the tide lapping at the beach under the raintree at the end of the peninsula, the constantly changing light on the mountains in the distance. It’s a subject matter of endless joy and she will show you how to make the most of it.

Charcoal is an equally fascinating medium. It encourages you to look at line, tone and texture. It’s a free, flexible art form which can be expressive and bold or mysterious and subtle.

Watercolours and Sketching with Malcolm Carver : Nov 19 – 26

Using simple but proven methods of capturing the image, seeing simple shapes, creating depth and appreciating light, Malcolm will build your confidence day by day. By the end of the week you will have produced a sketch book of drawings and paintings that capture the essence of the world around us and that you will be extremely proud of.

Pastels: a path to wondrous creativity with Marla Baggetta – postponed to 2017

Pastel is a wondrous medium that offers up the best of drawing and painting. It has the quick, accessible functionality of drawing, needing only the minimum of preparation, whilst at the same time yielding the rich layers and depth of colours of paint. The result is beautiful – not for nothing were they one of the favourite medium of Degas, Millet and Manet.
